Training weekends

We invite all new Belgian applicants (teachers and assistants) to take part in our training weekend. It’s an opportunity to learn more about what a Roeland camp is like, what the job of a summer camp volunteer entails, what our activities and lessons are all about. It’s an opportunity to get an insight in our teaching techniques but also to brainstorm about new and creative activities. Workshops are led by experienced Roeland head teachers and head assistants. There are separate training weekends for our Dutch, French, English and Junior projects.

A training weekend costs 50 euros (including meals and accommodation in the youth hostel).

When you apply for a job as a Roeland language instructor (see application form) we will invite you to the training weekend (unless you have worked for us in previous years).

If candidates take part in two training weekends, they only have to pay the €50 fee once.
Participants who work on a NT2 project (Dutch as a foreign language, projects for newcomers from all over the world) will get reimbursed.
