FRENCH AND ENGLISH DAY CAMPS

Our French and English day camps are organized for Juniors (children 9-12 years). The children learn a foreign language while playing. All activities take place in French or English. If there is a problem, the children can speak their mother tongue with the responsible.

BACKGROUND

Why learn French at a young age?

Youngsters are more open-minded and spontaneous. These qualities maker it easier for them to acquire a new language. In fact, children benefit from the process of learning a foreign language, i.e. it makes them alert, they develop a real sense for languages and they broaden their cultural knowledge.

  • Listening comprehension: the children learn how to interpret what the language assistant says and, in this way, get used to the typical intonation and pronunciation of the French language.
  • Fluency: during the first year, the children learn how to express themselves in French with basic vocabulary they acquire by working with different themes

Fun and learning: a good match?

It is easier for the children to remember something that has been acquired in a playful way. This is why we play, tell stories rather than learn how to write or read in French.

Why in small groups?

We work in small groups of about 10 children. As a result, every child has a chance to speak, to reply, ask questions, to participate in an active way.
