OBJECTIVES ARTSCENE

• French and English teachers who already teach or want to teach theatre and would like to integrate this process in some workshops are brought together.
• We look for professional workshop leaders and directors for teachers; we help teachers setting up a theatre project.
• We bring together teachers and youngsters with theatre professionals.
• We organise a theatre festival during which the different groups that participate in the project come together and can show their play, can follow workshops, get in touch with foreign youngsters and their directors and teachers…
• The process during the year is more important than the actual result. This goes both for participants and for workshop leaders/directors.
• We give the participants a chance to express themselves in a dynamic and creative way in a foreign language.
• We want to encourage young people to be creative while they are using foreign languages, we want to motivate them to really learn a foreign language and make them aware of cultural exchanges, differences and we hope they will create a sense of mutual tolerance.
