DAY 1 and 2
We arrived safely yesterday, although the trip took 7 hours and that was a bit long. We were happy when we arrived!
We met the whole staff and they were all dressed up like people in the 30s. The staff are very friendly.
The food is excellent and our kitchen staff comes from Belgium! The chef is called uncle Leo.
Then we did a test and afterwards we played games (British bulldog).
The assistants presented their workshops after supper. Our workshops are photography, art and film.
We slept very well although some of us didn't have a pillow!
---------------
Today we played sports (basketball, tennis, football) and we enjoyed that. Afterwards we had our first lessons. The lessons are very different from the lessons we have in Belgium, we do more games. We always have to speak English and that is not easy, but we try very hard.
We also sang songs. That was great fun!
In the afternoon we played a war game. Great Britain won the competition! We finished the afternoon with a tug of war.

DAY 3
Today we could choose new sports. We started off by doing some fitness exercises with music. Others went swimming with our lifeguard Steven. We played a game of waterpolo. The water was lukewarm.
During the lessons we talked about (British)sports and the Olympic Games, did some language games (bunny bunny, bingo, memory)and another group made a puzzle.
In the afternoon we played 101 frustrations with 7 groups. We had to make a sand castle, tie our feet together, sing for 30 minutes, shave the boys' legs, form a pyramid, make a mummie, find insects, make paper shoes, teach Dominique a new English word, ...
The food was very good. Uncle Leo made a vanilla pudding with speculoos! That was delicious. SAM, EMILE, LOU, MICHIEL, LIES

Day 5 - Friday
In the morning we had a short lesson with our teachers. We talked about going to Brighton and what we would see. We made sandwiches to bring to our picnic lunch. The bus took 30 minutes to get to Devil's Dyke. We went on a walk and we saw sheep, horses and chickens. We also saw a car with eyelashes on its lights. The walk was very tiring, but we had a picnic for lunch.
After that, we got on the bus for 20 minutes and arrived in Brighton. We walked around the Royal Pavillion and learnt about the royal family. After that we went to the Pier and walked around to look at everything. We went shopping for one hour and bought clothes from Hollister.
We came back to the school and had spaghetti for dinner.

Day 6/7
On Saturday we did the mystery walk. This was a series of stories, performed by each class, in the evening, when it got dark. We prepared our plays and changed the rooms, to look scary, during the afternoon. Then, in the evening, we started the walk. There were many different stories including "Horrible Henry", "The Slaves of Cottesmore" and "Game Over." Some of them were really scary!
On Sunday we have enjoyed British Commonwealth Day. We have learnt, from seven different teachers, about seven different Commonwealth countries. They were South Africa, Malaysia, New Zealand, the islands of the Caribbean, Canada, Australia and India. We liked learning about the New Zealand haka (the war dance they do before Rugby games) and eating pancakes with maple syrup in the lesson about Canada! Today, we have also been amazed by the culinary talents of Uncle Leo and his kitchen staff. For lunch we had Belgian stew and fries and then for dessert we had Uncle Leo's home made chocolate eclairs. They were wonderful!
