The Easter holidays are over! More than 380 children and teenagers participated in one of our French language courses (Daverdisse Junior, Bure Sport, Dinant Drama & Expression and Virton Discovery), our day camps Taalturbo (Dutch as a foreign language) and Junior English in Gent. Check out our website! You will see lots of smiling faces in the photos, showing what a great time participants had. The Taalturbo staff members created a Facebook group where you can find photos, short films, blog texts, rap music and much more.

Training

We have a lot of training sessions and workshops coming up in the next few weeks:
  • 21/04: First Aid for Roeland language courses (in Dutch)
  • 5/05: Workshop for new administrators
  • 28/04: Workshop for head teachers and head assistants French 12+
  • 16/06: Direction team meeting
  • 23/06: First Aid for Roeland language courses (in French)

You can register for the First Aid courses via barbara@roeland.be. For the other training sessions staff members will receive a personal invitation.

Artscene All English & Artscène français

When spring is in the air, it’s time for our theatre festivals! The Artscene All English Festival takes place from 3 until 5 May and the French festival, Artscène français, from 10 until 12 May. Our English festival welcomes eight groups from Flanders, Russia, France, Hungary and Romania. Two professional troupes from the United Kingdom will show their expertise as well. During the French festival we host thirteen groups from Flanders, Hungary, Romania, Canada and France.

All groups will stage their very own play in English or French. All year they have rehearsed  with their teacher(s) and/or a Roeland director. Both festivals take place in the Tinnenpot Theatre in Gent.

For more information and the programme check out our website. During the festival we will upload photos and a festival newspaper every day. All performances are free and open to the public. If you would like to attend one or several of the performances, mail evelien@roeland.be. We would love to see you there!
